A proposta de cenografia para a exposição permanente do CAM alude à necessidade de reaproximação e sintonização com o mundo natural, sendo metaforicamente interpretada como o Ecossistema do mundo da arte.
É constituída pelos seus vários elementos: o rio que define o percurso expositivo; montes com socalcos onde os visitantes se podem sentar (para ver as peças, conviver ou fazer uma pausa) e onde se escondem objetos a serem descobertos pelos mais novos; grutas que oferecem a ambiência propícia à proximidade com os desenhos da coleção; pássaros (expositores em forma de livro) cujo ritmo de voo é determinado pelo visitante ao mover as suas asas para descobrir e apreciar desenhos; e uma floresta na zona da entrada que inclui lianas (obras de arte suspensas) e uma cascata (escorrega de grande dimensão) que introduzem o percurso expositivo com um mergulho no mundo da coleção do CAM.

The scenography proposal for CAM's permanent exhibition alludes to the need to get closer to and in tune with the natural world, being metaphorically interpreted as the Ecosystem of the art world.
It consists of its various elements: the river that defines the exhibition route; terraced hills where visitors can sit (to see the pieces, socialize or take a break) and where objects to be discovered by the young are hidden; caves that offer the ambience conducive to getting close to the drawings in the collection; birds (book-shaped displays) whose flight rhythm is determined by the visitor moving their wings to discover and appreciate drawings; and a forest in the entrance area that includes lianas (suspended works of art) and a waterfall (large slide) that introduces the exhibition route with a dive into the world of CAM's collection.
